The Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI) needs your financial partnership.  We ask that you invest in our mission, which is to provide opportunities that will enhance the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired living in Kern County.  For your consideration, the following list shows some of our expenses and needs:

  

·       $4,200 = Braille embosser to print out from computer into Braille

·       $600 = Duxbury software required to translate text files into Braille before embossing and printing

·       $800 = Epson scanner to support specialized auditory software

·       $1,000 = Kurzweil software converts scanned text into speech

·       $1,300 = JAWS software is a computer screen reader

·       $800 = Zoom Text software enlarges screen print

·       $1,500 = Dell Dimension 2400 computer with CD burner

·       $200 = lunch for one client for 36 weeks

·       $200 = Independent Living Skills training for one client

·       $600 = computer technology training for one client

·       $600 = Braille instruction for one client

·       $3,000 = Orientation and Mobility training for one client
